Haunted House - Industrial Fright
One Scary Night Event Installation, Sacramento
A full haunted house experience was designed, built in modular segments and installed for 'Deon Taylor's One Scary Nite II' event in Sacramento.
Temporary structures were built without impacting the existing building structure, complying with fire codes and capacity regulations. Special features of the installation were controlled by custom written software; enabling the guests themselves to trigger scare elements throughout the haunt via motion detectors, allowing for more authentic frights and reactions.
Light Up Xmas - Holiday House
Holiday Light Installation, Sacramento
Following the tradition of the Sacramento Holiday houses of previous years, a custom built display was assembled utilizing LEDs for the first time on a commercial structure.
Handmade steel support structures were built to hold the LEDs, and attach temporarily to the exterior of the building. Custom software was written enabling each strand to be controlled in sequence, with lighting sequences designed in house to sync with a radio broadcast of Christmas music.

Specialty Costuming
Custom creature costumes and wardrobe were fabricated for various performers and background characters.
Multiple hero costumes were CNC milled, LED wired, sewn or sculpted for production use. Additional full-body creature costumes were provided for use in filming.
Ninja Party Kiosk - Ninja Networks
DefCon 2010 Convention Installation, Las Vegas
Designed a unique kiosk feature that was used as a point of entry ticket-scanning kiosk for the exclusive Ninja Networks party at DefCon 18.
Exterior theming involved monitor displays, LED lights and CNC cut acrylic panels. The kiosk sensor pad enabled the convention's badge to communicate with the computer within, and displayed a successful or failed indicator on whether or not the guest had hacked the badge and gained entry into the event.
The sensor pad was built to be interchangeable, allowing the kiosk to be repurposed for different shaped badges for use in subsequent events.

Aulani Hotel - Disney Vacation Resorts
Speciality Wireless Tech Installation, Oahu, HI.
Installation and deployment of speciality wireless antennae and receivers throughout the hotel in order to provide robust cellular and wifi service to guests and patrons.
Special attention was given to installing hardware with minimal visibility to guests and visitors, in order to retain the pristine themed interior and exterior of the hotel and resort.
Resident Evil Retribution - Sony Pictures
Mobile Promotional Experience
Built for international promotion of Resident Evil: Retribution and toured throughout Europe.
A 53' expanding trailer was designed and fabricated to provide guests with an immersive movie experience. Custom themed room enclosures were built with features such as LED displays, an 10'x4' pane of LC glass, and lifelike silicone human replicas.
The vehicle was designed to be portable and withstand touring dozens of European cities, complying with numerous country building codes and providing a bilingual experience for all guests.

The Guild revolves around the lives of an online guild, The Knights of Good, who play an MMORPG together and premiered on Microsoft's Xbox Live marketplace.
Speciality costumes were provided for characters throughout production, including a brown dog and gray snowleopard costume.
An additional human plush styled costume was built specifically for filming, emulating the appearance of one of the main character actresses.

A unique taxidermy styled cape and cowl was built for a production pilot.
Realistic synthetic fur fabrics were used, in addition to taxidermy replica glass eyes and teeth. The cape included paws with resin cast claws and rubber paw pads, as well as a tail attached to the body of the cape.
The Amazing Race - CBS

The Amazing Race season 23 aired Sept 29, 2013.
A custom clue revealing prop was built, specially engineered not to enable the clue display unless toggled correctly by participants.
Additionally, set props were built for the season finale in the form of a life sized totem figurine. The figurine was then duplicated via vacuuforming in lightweight plastics, in order to be easily attached to scaffolding.
Wings were also CNC milled and vacuuformed but were not used by final set dressers due to high wind conditions on site during filming.
bBooth - Audition USA
R&D Concept Design and Prototype
From start to finish, the bBooth prototype is a unique, state-of-the-art design conceptualized and created completely in house.
Designed entirely from the ground up by Bob, bBooth is a production-quality sound recording studio capable of breaking down for transportation and installation within buildings or shopping centers.
It boasts advanced sound insulation, custom wired LED lit enclosure, multiple exterior displays for participants and viewers, a greenscreen within for unique backdrop capabilities and sophisticated software to enable multiple recording inputs with clarity and purity of sound. The one of a kind proof of concept prototype was then used as a promotional device by the client.
Ninja Tel - Ninja Networks
DefCon 2012 Convention Installation, Las Vegas
The NinjaTel van is the base of operations for NinjaTel, a mobile cell phone network created by a team of hobby specialists known as the Ninja Network for installation at Defcon20.
The NinjaTel van was designed with a unique aesthetic, emulating the stereotypical 'Spy Van', with plush wall carpeting, sound foam insulation, LED lighting and multiple directional monitors above a customized acrylic desk.
A custom ducting system was built around the radios and servers in order to keep the hardware running optimally, with acrylic access panels allowing for the equipment to remain displayed despite outside temperatures.

To emulate a sequence of a large car accident and roll-over, a custom built spinning room enclosure was designed and fabricated. Interior dimensions were identical to the practical vehicle used, in order to facilitate editing and create a seamless viewer experience.
A unique drive system was built to allow precision controls to protect stunt actors, giving production the ability to control rate of speed and emergency stop features.
Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N - Marvel's Exhibition Installation

Marvel's Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N The Exhibition (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network) is an immersive experience bringing visitors into the world of The Avengers. Visitors are granted S.H.I.E.L.D access and are taken deep into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Custom built LED lighting was designed, assembled and installed throughout the exhibit in both overhead, floor inset and focal lighting. LEDS were wired to custom controller hardware, offering dynamic control for the lighting designer.
All wiring was built in California, designed to be easily broken down for transport and reassembled on site in New York City.
American Ninja Warrior - NBC Universal
Set Design and Fabrication
Fabricators of the infamous Warped Wall obstacle!
Responsibilities include structural engineering, fabrication blueprints, as well as CNC milling the materials used to fabricate the precision angle of the Warped Wall obstacle used throughout multiple seasons of filming.
Also responsible for engineering and milling set pieces such as the gymnast circles for the Arm Rings, and designed the rendered layout for numerous scaffolding assemblies built overseas during filming.

Reality Show Network Engineering
A unique reality show, Capture pitted participants against each other in the mountains of California, with contestants using state of the art technology live during gameplay.
A unique communications solution was devised and implemented in order to solve the lack of cellular network over the multiple square miles of game territory.
Antennas, wifi broadcasters and both solar and gas generator powered booster sites were dispatched throughout the forest where filming occurred. Service was then established to provide up to the minute feedback between contestants and the 'Gamemaster', as well as between contestants for the entirety of the filming schedule. Minimal environmental impact was a priority, so antennas were deployed on mobile, removable installations such as scissor lifts and boom trucks.
LED Hula Hoop - Dragonsquared Studio
Design and Fabrication
Unsatisfied with commercially sold LED hula hoops available for performers, we designed and fabricated a robust substitute with upgrades.
The LED hoop contains RGB pixel tape, with a custom built Arduino Teensie board carrying custom written software. With an interior receiver, the hula hoop boasts the ability to 'listen' to ambient audio which is then used to change the light sequences and brightness.
It contains 30 - 3.7V 150mAh rechargeable batteries, suspended in 3D printed ribbing within the hula hoop, allowing it to be collapsed to 1/2 its diameter for ease of transportation.

LED Dragon - Stilt Circus
Custom wiring and LED installation
This dragon prop is used by Stilt Circus, a unique troupe of performers who excel in fire dancing, stilt walking, and numerous other feats of skill and athleticism.
An existing dragon prop was disassembled and rewired with industrial LEDs. Incorporating wearable batteries for performers, customizations were also made to enable both the dragon prop and the pearl prop to be synchronized and controlled by performers in real time via wireless infrared remote control.
Samsung Jam Session - NBA All Star weekend

Custom, super sized LED lit basketball hoops were built to regulation dimensions for the NBA All Star Weekend.
Reinforced steel frames were welded to support the structures, and hand knotted nylon ropes were suspended from the frames. LED tape was installed in PVC tubing and wired for DMX control by the event lighting designer.

All patterns are designed in-house, sewn by hand by Colleen using high quality materials. Elements of hand embroidery, knitting, crochet and needlework make each sculpture unique and one of a kind.

Themed Installation 157 S Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA
Custom LED lighting features were hand wired and seamlessly integrated throughout the Samsung store; from the front entry way and concierge table to the renovated warehouse sales floor, underlighting product display tables as well as illuminating lounge areas.
LED inset signage was installed throughout the installation, in addition to mood lighting within the various different departments and fixtures.
50 Million Celebration - Netflix

The Netflix 50 Million Reasons to Celebrate event centered around the unique concept of creating original environments based on Netflix's original programming.
Custom LED lighting was built and installed throughout multiple themed areas of the event, highlighting the different guest areas themed after programming such as Star Wars: Clone Wars and House of Cards. The entire LED installation was connected via DMX which enabled the displays to be controlled dynamically to sync with music or lighting effects.

Custom LED lighting was built within displays that were used as permeable walls encircling the event grounds. The entire LED installation was connected via DMX which enabled the displays to be controlled dynamically to sync with music or lighting effects as controlled by the lighting director and event DJ.
#OrangeCon - Orange is the New Black Fan Party

Fans from all over the world came to celebrate Netflix's Orange is the New Black in New York City at #OrangeCon, the ultimate fan event!
A custom 360 degree spinning room was designed, engineered and built for the event to offer attendees a truly unique themed attraction.
Guests were then provided an individualized, branded video filmed during their experience to share as they wished on social media and various platforms.

HELP (Saved) - Google Interactive Stories

HELP (Alternately titled Saved) is one of Google ATAP's much anticipated Spotlight Stories created specifically for Android smartphones.
A state of the art camera rig was engineered in house by Bob, and build out of a combination of custom milled aluminum and 3D printed components. A unique 100% electric camera go-cart was also built, with custom designed hardware and software to wirelessly transmit live footage for use during filming.

Star Wars Battlefront - EA Games Booth
Star Wars Celebration Convention Installation, LA
Star Wars Battlefront was debuted to fans at Star Wars Celebration 2015 in Anaheim, CA. The presentation took place inside a recreation of the Rebel Alliance's briefing room from Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi.
Custom LED props were created in house and installed throughout the immersive installation to recreate the look and feel of the original film set for the convention attendees.

Look through the eyes of a bitten survivor as a group of heavily-armed neighbors desperately try to escape the living dead in this action-packed, moving-camera VR experience.
A custom 360° camera and camera mount solution designed and engineered around existing hardware, offering a robust solution to dynamic mobile 360° filming. One-of hardware was CNC milled, complete with welding and wiring all delivered within tight production deadlines.
Kitten Dorm - Orphan Kitten Rescue Foster Home
Animal Caregivers \ Adoption Coordinators \ Charity Organizers
Kittens under 8 weeks old are some of the most at-risk within the shelter environment, needing around the clock care to survive to adoption age. Kitten Dorm works with Los Angeles Animal Services to rescue vulnerable kittens and raise them into wonderful companion cats for adoption.
Kitten Dorm is run by Dragonsquared; foster volunteers specializing in providing care for neonatals and newborn kittens, as well as socializing rescued street cats and preparing for adoption. Kitten Dorm exists to provide information and education to potential fosters and adopters, as well as host information about the 24/7 Livestream.

Cat Con is where pop culture and cat culture converge, showcasing some of the world’s top cat-centric merchandise, conversations with those at the epicenter of the cat world, and one of the biggest adoption lounges.
Over 27k people attended the 2015 and 2016 events, with 30k attendees in 2017. Over 178 cats have been adopted through Cat Con's events via Best Friends and SPCA LA, and over 150 cat adoptions were completed through the Pasadena Humane Society in 2017. Special costume appearances help raise awareness of rescue and adoption through outreach, interviews and photo opportunities. Costumes such as these are custom made by Dragonsquared from original designs.
Galactic Wayfinder - Line of Sight Signs
Jet Propulsion Labratory Installation
A new art installation at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory taps into the Deep Space Network’s tracking software to create moving signposts that showcase the massive scale of the space agency’s work.
“Line of Sight” galactic signposts feature three entirely custom built, rotating LED signs that use precision GPS location data to automatically orient toward distant planets, ongoing missions, remote satellites and rovers, and other celestial bodies. This collaborative project was precision engineered to provide accurate locations and display, as well as to survive harsh climate conditions with style.
